Golden Emporium Vase Pietra Dura Faux Inlaid Semi-Precious Stone Woodpecker
A spectacular one-of-a-kind Golden Emporium Vase, its tall, elegant silhouette transformed with Lesley Roy’s interpretation of the centuries-old art of pietra dura.
Against a luminous crackled golden ground, a colorful woodpecker and fanciful botanical motifs appear to have been painstakingly assembled from individually cut pieces of semi-precious stone. Jewel-like passages of lapis blue, amethyst, rose, jade and ivory tones create the illusion of intricate stone inlay across the glass.
The dramatically flared rim and elongated Emporium form give this piece wonderful architectural presence. Magnificent filled with flowering branches or tall sculptural stems, it is equally compelling standing entirely on its own.
