Created as part of an intimate private commission, the Red Lepidoptera Collection began with a simple shift in palette that transformed an entirely familiar world into something unexpectedly dramatic. Inspired by the beauty of the original design, Lesley Roy continued the collection in a very limited number of pieces simply because she loved it too much to stop.

One of her most recognizable Signature Forms, this sculptural covered compote combines graceful proportions with remarkable presence. The richly layered artwork unfolds across a striking black ground, allowing the butterflies and brilliant orange peonies to glow with extraordinary depth and warmth.
